The Kuskovo estate is a unique cultural and architectural monument of the 18th century and one of Russia’s finest examples of summer residences. It was built on orders from Count Sheremetev and was intended to house luxurious parties.
Magnificent constructions such as the Palace, Grotto, Hermitage, Great stone conservatory, old church, and Italian and Dutch houses survived until today and dotted throughout an extensive landscaped park, which has gardens in the French style, ponds, lakes and sculptures made by Russian and Italian architects.
