Paleontology Museum


For anyone interested in animal and plant specimens, we recommend a tour to one of the biggest museums committed to natural history.

You will have an great opportunity to examine the collections depicting the evolution of human beings. You will be shown how the first inhabitants of the Earth are supposed to have appeared. You will see the most popular hall solely for displaying dinosaurs. These extinct reptiles that once inhabited earth will be displayed for you. There is also a huge and really impressive mammoth skeleton.

The museum collection consists of wonderful halls that you can experience by joining our tour of the Paleontological Museum. Unique specimens of plants and animals from the period of about million years ago will be displayed for you. The collection includes more than 5,000 items obtained by Russian explorers and scientists.

It is also a historic building and originates from Kuntskamer, in Saint Petersburg, which belongs to the period of Peter the Great's reign. Now, it is the largest museum without comparison in the world.

Each room of the museum represents a different theme. While there, you can learn about paleontology in science, the Precambrian and early Paleozoic periods and the beginning of the Age of Reptiles, evolution of species, the world’s rarest animals, skeletons of extinct animals and unique mammal specimens. All the exhibits are either original or reconstructed.

There is a special hall representing geological history of the present time Moscow and its suburbs. You are allowed to touch all the exhibits and so understand what this area was like 300 millions years ago.

The Paleontology Museum is very popular with children and also among our adult customers.

The tour takes approximately 3 hours.
