Reference about Baiknur tour Dmitriy Granenkov.

Dmitriy took part in the tour to Baikonur (15 June 2010 -18 June 2010) thanks to the winning the 1st place in Russian radio competition (provided by Retro FM).

Good afternoon, dear friends! I would like to share my life experience that I gained not so much time before. My words may seem naïve but like all Russian guys in my childhood I couldn’t look at night sky with indifference. I think that is difficult to find any person who is so fond of charming eternity.
There are unexplored worlds, mystery planets, and, perhaps, other civilizations. I have always dreamed of learning more about something unexplored and unknown.

It was like a dream for me. I was a lucky person to win the competition of one of Russian famous radio dedicated to the Day of Cosmonautics. Together with Travel Agency “Country of Tourism” I happened to be in wonderful city Baikonur. FAIRY TALE TURNED INTO REALITY!!! People of the planet Earth, I was at the manned space shuttle launch at night!!! There is no point in describing what I felt – IT IS NECESSARY TO SEE AND HEAR!! Even now I feel touched and I think that it is worth living to see this launch! I didn’t feel shame to cry and it was impossible to stop my tears. These were the tears of happiness.
I was lost for words. It was wonderful, majestic, incredible!!!

Several words about the company “Country of Tourism” and provided service by them. Everything was on the highest level. Everything that was promised was fulfilled and even more than that. Nearly every day there were pleasant surprises that were hidden by the organizers till the last moment. For example, handing in the certificates of the participant of the space launch, autographs of cosmonauts, non-planned visit of Cosmonaut Training Centre, etc. I would like to thank additionally our leader of the group and simply wonderful girl – Alexandra Blanco (note: Alexandra was at Baikonur for the first time).

It was a pleasure to see Alexandra with her sincere smile, hear her voice with wonderful English (as there were some foreigners in the group). Frankly speaking, Sasha did everything professionally that is worth to be thanked.

Everything that I have been explaining seems to be wonderful…..But it was really so. Oh, nearly forgot….Once the bus was broken. It is not surprising as the weather was more than 40 C. Even the technical equipment cannot survive such weather even though the humidity is quite law and it is easier to be at such high temperatures. Finally, the bus was quickly exchanged and we continued our tour at Baikonur.

If we talk about price, I am as a winner don’t know about that. But I can say for sure that it worth it.
And one more thing. I put the aim to be once more at Baikonur, see again this majestic launch of the space shuttle, see the launch pads at Baikonur (one of them Energia-Buran is indeed huge), see the monuments, wonderful museums and endless Kazakhstan steppe….
