USA My husband Tom and I booked this trip through Country of Tourism because they were the only company who offered a historical military tour that included events for the 65th anniversary of WWII ending. After the amazing experience of the entire tour and the customer service we received I can say we made the best choice! From the moment we arrived in Moscow and were met at the airport by Aleksandra we were treated with the best care. We affectionately called our guide Marina “Mother Marina” as she took care of us with such kindness and sincerity. The tour itinerary was well put together and our guides were extremely knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. I never dreamed I would be standing in Red Square and to be there during the final parade rehearsal was a deeply moving experience. The Russian people are full of pride and patriotism and it was an honor to bear witness to such devotion. The experience in Gorky Park of seeing the veterans from WWII receive flowers and being thanked for their service is something I will never forget. We met some true heroes that day and made new friends that we are staying in contact with. Every place we visited we were provided with expert guides that shared a wealth of information. Each city was a new adventure with fascinating museums, monuments and history. From Mamayev hill to the Volga River Volgograd holds its place in history as a city and a people who can overcome all odds to protect their homeland. After viewing the amazing Panorama of that battle, standing on the banks of the river was very surreal. Saint Petersburg seemed so new to be so old but the history surrounding us there could not be denied. In the short time we had there we saw the beautiful Peter and Paul Fortress, the Artillery museum with its amazing military collection, the famous Aurora Cruiser and the somber battlefields outside the city center. We highly recommend visiting Russia and booking a tour with Country of Tourism. We will definitely use them to plan our next adventure to Russia!
