Museum of the Great Patriotic War

A lot is known about World War II and it seems very difficult to surprise anyone. There are dozens of films and hundreds of books about war but when you are at Poklonnaya hill and Museum of the Great Patriotic War you will feel the atmosphere of sadness and pride of Russian people who were able to defeat fascist invasion.

That is why we would like to invite you to the excursion in Moscow to a unique architectural building of the WWII museum that is an essential part of Victory Park at Poklonnaya Hill. The entrance to the museum is lined with beautiful fountains. In the Museum you will have the chance to see the Hall of Glory representing the triumph of victories. And the Hall of Memory with its historical and military expositions showing the tragedy of the War and heroic events.

The Museum's exposition includes a lot of many rooms that occupy the territory of more than 14,000 square meters. Among them there are gorgeous Entry Hall, collections of works of art at Picture Gallery, the Halls of Glory and Memory where you can see 6 dioramas depicting the most important and dramatic battles of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 years. Exhibition hall and hall for veterans can be seen in the museum and also two movie theaters.
You will also be told about events taking place during the war and shown official documents, official and personal letters, newspaper articles, pictures. You will see the books with names of all heroes who showed great courage and defended Russia.

There are also open air exhibitions where you can observe different items of equipment for war and engineering fortifications. For example, you will observe well-known “Katusha”, models of tanks, cannons and mortars and a lot more. Indeed, you will find an excursion to the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War very interesting.

Tour takes approximately 2 hours.
