On the 5th of April, 2011 at 02.18.20 MT from the Baikonur cosmodrome rocket "Soyuz-FG" launched with the manned spacecraft "Soyuz TMA-21". The spaceship received the name of "Yuri Gagarin" in honor of the first cosmonaut of our planet.
The crew aboard of the ship is: Samokutyaev Alexander, commander of "Soyuz TMA-21" (Russia, 1st flight into space), Andrei Borisenko, flight engineer, (Russia, 1st flight into space) and NASA astronaut Ronald Garan , flight engineer (United States, 2 nd flight into space).
The launch took place on the launch pad at Baikonur which is called "Gagarin's Start". It is the place, where 50 years ago on April 12, 1961, first manned flight took place.
In about 9 minutes after the launch vehicle was successfully launched into the orbit. Docking of Soyuz TMA-21 with ISS is planned on April 7 at 03.18 MT. The crew will spend there half a year.
Today's launch is one hundred and tenth in the ISS program. "Soyuz TMA-21" will be the first Russian ship of this series, which received its own name. On the fairing of the rocket a portrait of the first cosmonaut was put with the inscription "50th Anniversary of the of the first flight into space of Yuri Gagarin".
On March 29 and April 1 our two groups of tourists arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, accompanied by a representative of "Country Tourism". Tourists from Russia, Germany, the United States took part in the tour.
