apollo 11

Everyone of us remembers the memorable date of history of Apollo. On July 20, 1969, the human race accomplished its greatest technological achievement of all time when Neil Armstrong and his crew first made Moon landing.

Six hours after this moon landing at 4:17 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, Neil Armstrong took the "Small Step" into our greater future when he stepped off the Lunar Module, named "Eagle," onto the surface of the Moon, from which he could look up and see Earth in the heavens as no one had done before him.

The astronauts of NASA Apollo 11 spent 21 hours on the lunar surface. After their historic walks on the Moon, they successfully docked with the Command Module "Columbia". Since the history of Apollo the Moon was no longer lifeless.

It was not an easy task to land the Moon in Apollo 11. The computer of Apollo11 stopped working and Neil Armstrong had to operate space shuttle by hand. He didn't refuse of the idea of Moon landing and was given a special NASA awarding afterwards.

These days we celebrate the 40th anniversary of history of Apollo. The crew had meeting with the US president He called the astronauts "iconic figures" and "three genuine American heroes." The US president said that their mission was a "touchstone for excellence in exploration and discovery."

Obama said that Apollo 11 crew has inspired a generation of scientists and engineers that sparked innovation and creatively on Earth as well.
